History of an Italian excellence

1969

In 1969, a family coming back from Canada invested here in San Zenone degli Ezzelini, in the Treviso hinterland, setting up a company dealing with wire processing. The creators were the brothers Dante and Luigi Pellizzari who, by interpreting the market requirements, took Silmec from a small business in the Treviso area to a well-established production company, which is still a reference point on the international market.

The small family company grew with three galvanic plants and, in 1975, the production range increased with the inauguration of a specific department for the production of mailboxes. In that year Silmec proposed the first stainless steel mailbox and, in 1977, the first multimple mailbox solution for large housing estates.

The company offers a wide and heterogeneous range of articles, suitable to meet the most different needs, continuing with the design and production, strictly Made in Italy, of further product lines such as notice boards, key holders and advertising boxes.

Silmec‘s production area expands considerably, reaching an extension of 35,000 square metres, of which 13,000 are covered, and investing in a production process that starts from the use of 100% Italian raw materials from the main national companies, which guarantees quality, precision and competitiveness.

1990
2000

In these years the company expanded its catchment area with the opening of new international markets, from Sweden to Germany, Cyprus, United Kingdom, Hungary, Ireland… Silmec became a leading European company in the storage and custody of postal products. In honour of the “Gioiosa Marca Trevigiana“, in 2000 Silmec introduced on the market the “GIOIOSA”, the first mailbox worldwide produced in cast aluminium which, over the years, became the symbol of Silmec Mailboxes. The design, the resistance, the capacity and the manufacturing details make GIOIOSA still today one of the best sellers of Silmec products.

Silmec invests in the energy aspect looking for a more ecological and less polluting solution to operate. In 2009 Silmec installs on the roof of the production building a photovoltaic system that generates about 400,000 kwh per year of clean energy that supplies the production process.

2009
2016

In line with the modern design and style oriented market needs, in 2016 Silmec introduces the SQUARE line. Designed for an exclusive target and for prestigious residential complexes, the SQUARE 300 and 400 boxes are made of solid aluminium profiles, in conformity with the European standard EN13724, with a green-oriented view using 100% recyclable aluminium and guaranteeing the durability of an elegant and modern outdoor furnishing accessory.

Nowadays the company, led by Denis Pellizzari – Dante’s grandson, continues to grow with entrepreneurial choices in line with innovation and market evolution. This is the year of … coming soon…
